A 1930’s Gala Event

The West Concord Historical Society is holding a thirtieth anniversary celebration in honor of the organization. The West Concord Historical Society has turned the original 1902 school building into a museum and the 1936 gymnasium community center after the pairing of the school districts in 1991. The building was added to the register of National Historic Places in 2021. Everyone who is an alumni of the West Concord High School will have many wonderful memories from their years of school in that building.

This anniversary celebration will have a 1930’s era theme with music and an opportunity to dress up in the style of the jazz, swing and the Golden Age of Hollywood. It will be held on Saturday, September 28 starting at 4pm.

There will be a social time to explore the museum and play a Trivia game from 4 to 5pm followed by a catered meal of hot and cold appetizers and two complimentary beverages.

There will be music from the 1930’s all evening and you will be able to have your picture taken in front of a backdrop of the Golden Age of Hollywood. You may even win a prize for dressing in your best 1930’s style.

You can enjoy the evening with West Concord friends in the Flame Room, a recreation of the dining room of the same name originally located in the Hotel Concord, which was the popular restaurant in the community during the 1930’s.
