West Concord Historical Society Celebrates 30 Years

On Saturday evening the Flame Room at the West Concord Historical Society was filled with a group celebrating the 30th anniversary of the formation of the society. In 1994 a group of West Concord High School alumni got together and purchased the old building saving the structure from demolition. The original building was constructed in 1902 and the addition with the gym was built in the 1930's. This sparked the idea to hold a fundraiser with a Hollywood 1930's glamour theme. Many dressed in period appropriate attire and attended the event.

A trivia contest started out the evening with questions pertaining to the era in four of the historical society rooms. Most were stumped since they couldn't recall the events of that decade very well. The air conditioned Flame Room featured a bar and light snacks to keep everyone enjoying the time visiting together. Emery entertained with memories of elementary hi-jinks of sixty years ago. People took pictures in front of the Golden Era of Hollywood backdrop.
