Halloween from a parents' point of view

Posted

As a kid, Halloween is a holiday that is about getting candy and having fun. Trick or treating happens every October 31st, with kids running around their neighborhoods with their parents in tow. While the kids run around having fun, I have to know, how do the parents see this holiday?

Tanya Klug, a Triton staff member states, "I feel very rushed during Halloween as I need to get all of my kids costumes and stay with them while they go trick or treating. ¨ Mrs. Klug says that she likes how cute Halloween is and how she loves the giving aspect of it. When asked about candy Mrs. Klug also says, ¨My kids’ favorite candy is Sour Patch Kids and many types of chocolate; however, they don't like Reece’s that much and don't eat it at all and give it to me or their dad. ¨

She also told us how when their kids are done trick or treating, they put all of the candy into one giant bucket, and they can have some after supper. Mrs. Klug says, ¨This is so that my kids don´t hurt their tummies and will be able to stay healthy. ¨

In conclusion Mrs. Klug sees Halloween as a very fun holiday but also says how it can be very tiring, and she can feel rushed. She still enjoys the holiday and likes how cute and fun it is, but she wishes that we moved trick or treating back to the weekend so that more parents would be able to go with their kids. She also says to always check your kids' candy. Halloween is about getting candy and having fun, but that doesn't mean you also can't be safe too.
